ORLANDO, FL – The fourth back-to-school Power Your Lunchbox Pledge Twitter party, hosted by Produce for Kids, saw more than 23 million impressions, surpassing all Produce for Kids Twitter parties in the company’s five-year Twitter party history. There were 3,995 total tweets and 320 attendees within the fast-moving hour of conversation about time-saving ideas, healthy recipes and back-to-school tips.

The Twitter party was hosted by Produce for Kids and likeminded brand partners supporting Power Your Lunchbox Pledge including Avocados From Mexico, Bee Sweet Citrus, Crispy Green®, Earthbound Farm®, The World of Eric Carle®, GROW Bananas by Organics Unlimited, NatureFresh™ Farms, Pero Family Farms®, Sun World®, Vegy Vida® Dips ‘n More and Zespri® Kiwifruit.

“Our monthly Twitter parties are typically well attended, but this year’s Power Your Lunchbox Pledge party surpassed expectations,” said Trish James, vice president Produce for Kids. “We have an amazing group of likeminded partner brands working alongside us this year that are dedicated to spreading the healthy eating message and giving back to Feeding America to help families in need.”

According to a 2016 Pew Research Center report, 36% of online Americas, aged 18 to 29 years old, use Twitter. In addition, 23% of online Americans, aged 30 to 49, also use the platform. Recently, during its 2017 Q2 earnings report, Twitter announced the platform has 328 million monthly active users.

During the party Produce for Kids gave away The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear and Grouchy Lady Bug lunchboxes provide by campaign sponsor The World of Eric Carle®. Additionally, inspirational Lunch Bite lunchbox notecards from Create Kids Club were given away.

To date, Power Your Lunchbox Pledge has raised nearly 660,000 meals for Feeding America over four years. Power Your Lunchbox partners will make a collective $1 donation for each pledge taken to support Feeding America programs that benefit children and families struggling with hunger.
