Morning Kiss Organic And Fair Foods Partnership Brings Fresh Produce To Families In Need

Chelsea, MA – For 25 years, Morning Kiss Organic and Fair Foods have partnered to fight hunger and increase food security for families and individuals within the Greater Boston community. Donations from Morning Kiss Organic and its parent company, Arrowfarms, help to feed over 2,000 families per week. In 2017, Morning Kiss Organic is on track to exceed the amount of fresh produce donated last year.
Fair Foods is a Boston based non-profit whose mission is to rescue surplus fruits and vegetables from Boston businesses and distribute the food to those in need. Last year, Arrowfarms and its subsidiaries Morning Kiss Organic, GoldBell, and DiSilva Fruit donated 855,000 lbs. of produce to families in the Greater Boston area via Fair Foods. Earlier this year, Fair Foods acquired an additional truck, allowing them to accept more donations, which the Arrowfarms companies readily supplied.
“Access for all people to healthy, nutritious produce is at the core of the Morning Kiss Organic mission. We are happy to be able to contribute to the community, and grateful for the hard work by Fair Foods on the distribution end,” says Mike Guptill of Morning Kiss Organic.
"Every potato counts," says Fair Foods assistant director Kym Barboza, noting that the Fair Foods staff often sees the same faces year-round at 50+ weekly distribution sites, and that potatoes are a favorite item. Fair Foods Director Nancy Jamison says, "The ladies and gentlemen of Arrowfarms and the New England Produce Center are true Americans who believe in brotherly love."
