Burlington, MA – New England Produce Council, Inc. (NEPC) hosted a dinner meeting event at Fenway Park, Boston MA and the event was sponsored by Sunny Valley International, Inc., a supplier of fresh fruits and vegetables to the North American market since 1986. Some of their most important fresh produce products include table grapes, blueberries, peaches, nectarines, pears, apples, Spanish Clementine, and avocados.

Anthony Sattler, NEPC President, welcomed the group to the event and introduced the Sunny Valley International, Inc. representatives.  Bonnie Lundblad, Sales Rep., and Francisco Allende, Vice President, both spoke at the event.  Some key points of their presentation included a review on industry trends and future yields to prepare for the upcoming peach and blueberry season.  According to Bonnie both peaches and blueberries should have full crops from New Jersey this year, which is great news.  Blueberries will start around June 8th-10th and peaches will start around July 1st.  The pregame presentation took place on the Strega Deck which adorns the roof-top garden at Fenway Park.  The roof-top garden provides fresh grown produce used by the Fenway chefs.

Our meeting was followed by a Red Sox game and we had an impressive turn out of regional retailers, wholesalers and vendors sharing thoughts, experiences and knowledge.  The Red Sox vs. Orioles proved to be an exciting match up and they did not disappoint with the outcome being the Red Sox victorious.  Also, Sunny Valley International, Inc. and NEPC felt the victorious vibe with such a great event.  According to NEPC President, Anthony Sattler, “The New England Produce Council, Sunny Valley and Fenway Park have a long standing relationship.  It was a great event and thank you to Sunny Valley for their continued support.”
