On Tuesday, September 13th, with a tailgate dinner at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel in Iselin, NJ, sponsors, Avocados from Mexico and the Idaho Potato Commission, helped the Eastern Produce Council "Jet" into its 2016/17 calendar of events. The main attraction for this unique event was former New York Jets standout and member of the “New York Sack Exchange” defensive tackle Joe Klecko. Members were asked to wear their favorite team's football jerseys, they dined on fancy tailgate food, and received autographed memorabilia as giveaways.
Founded in 1966 in New York City, the Eastern Produce Council's mission is to provide their membership with multiple networking opportunities and the most relevant, up-to-date information available in the produce industry and to advance the sales and awareness of fresh fruits and vegetables
Avocados from Mexico
Mexico is the leading source of fresh Avocados in the US and the only brand that produces avocados year-round, thanks to Mexico's rich, volcanic soil and unique growing conditions that allow trees to naturally bloom multiple times a year. Behind the Avocados from Mexico (AFM) brand is a seasoned marketing group dedicated to growing the category and building continued excitement around the brand.
The Idaho Potato Commission
The Idaho Potato Commission is one of the oldest and strongest produce associations in the US formed 78 years ago to promote and support the Idaho Potato Industry. The IPC was the first commodity group to utilize broad scale advertising more than 50 years ago and today runs national TV advertising featuring the iconic truck that everyone is still looking for. The Idaho seal is recognized around the world as a symbol of quality, and they encourage retailers to leverage that strength within their own potato section
