Worldwide 1,200 hectares
Worldwide around 1,200 hectares have been planted with cut hydrangea. The most important country of production is Colombia, where production has risen steeply in the past few years. The Netherlands is trailing far behind in terms of production.
Compared to 2012 the worldwide production has increased by more than 35%. The rise has been greatest in Colombia, with 200 hectares. In Japan and New Zealand, a decrease in production is expected.
