IMMOKALEE, Fla. – Lipman, North America’s largest open field tomato grower, recently won the “Large Business” category for the 2016 Face Awards, presented by D’Latinos and Gulfshore Business magazines. The honor recognizes businesses and outstanding individuals who celebrate ethnic and racial diversity in Southwest Florida.
“Lipman has embraced diversity since our inception in the 1930s, and we’re honored to be recognized for our commitment to employing people from all over the world,” said Jaime Weisinger, community relations director for Lipman. “We’re a company made up of different cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds, and we believe this makes us a stronger organization.”
Weisinger says an added benefit of employing a diverse workforce is having the opportunity to tap into the vastly different viewpoints of its employees. He says leadership listens to the unique perspectives of its team which, ultimately, help guide the company’s business decisions, vision and philosophy.
