It all started years ago along the Kentucky River, and it's grown exponentially from a popular regional treat in central Kentucky to across the country.

Longtime residents of Clark County can certainly fill you in when it comes to beer cheese, which originated when Johnnie Allman served his cousin's Joe's Snappy Cheese at the historic Driftwood Inn.

Since then, beer cheese has exploded across central Kentucky and Clark County as multiple manufacturers produce their own variation of the tasty treat.
