Van Buren, N.Y. — G&C Foods is planning an $18 million addition and upgrade that the company says will create 85 jobs at its big food distribution center in Van Buren.
Richard Chapman, president of G&C Food Distributors and Brokers Inc., said the project will include the addition of refrigerated dock space, 50,000 square feet of dry storage space, the conversion of other space in the center to a freezer and the creation of a frozen-food packaging line.
The company employs 215 people at the former P&C Foods Inc. cold storage facility at 3407 Walters Road, 10 miles west of Syracuse. Chapman said the expansion will create 85 new jobs at the facility.
