Former Giant Food Site In Jessup Gets New Produce Tenant

A growing Jessup distribution company plans to move to a new, larger 160,000-square-foot building on the grounds of the former Giant Food warehouse in Jessup.
CGC Holdings Inc. agreed to lease the build-to-suit facility from its developer Manekin LLC, the Baltimore-based developer announced Monday. The lease is the first to be signed for the 60-acre site, which has been dormant since 2012, when Giant's supplier moved operations to Pennsylvania.
CGC, the parent company of G. Cefalu & Bro. Inc. and Capital Produce Co., said the companies have outgrown their current space, which they moved into in 2004. The firm expects about 250 people to work in the new building, with plans for expansion by another 100 employees in the next few years.
