Knouse Foodservice Introduces Musselman’s Smoothie-Mix Product Line
October 23, 2015 | 2 min to read
Knouse Foods, a leading grower-owned fruit cooperative, is launching a new line of Musselman’s Smoothie-Mix for operators seeking an easy way to offer more on-trend, better-for-you beverages. Strawberry Banana, Blueberry and Tropical flavors are available now in packs of four, four-ounce cups, all shelf stable with no preservatives.
Nearly half of foodservice operators surveyed said they currently menu smoothies, and they agree that smoothie mixes are the best way to ensure consistency, minimize food waste and reduce prep times.[1] Musselman’s Smoothie-Mix helps operators menu fresh-tasting smoothies easily and affordably—no start-up inventory, special equipment or blenders are required.
At least two-fifths of consumers strongly agree that full-service restaurants and fast-food concepts should offer greater beverage variety.[2] With refreshing taste and an appealing health halo, smoothies make delicious menu additions in all foodservice environments. Musselman’s Smoothie-Mix blends best with apple juice or yogurt, and it’s a heavy source of fruit, vitamins and calcium. For added super-food benefits, each patron-pleasing flavor also includes kale and carrots.
Bob Fisher, Vice President of Marketing at Knouse, says, “From grab-and-go breakfast offerings on C&U campuses to afternoon snack options at fast-casual operations, smoothies are trending throughout various segments and dayparts. With new Musselman’s Smoothie-Mix, operators can benefit from incremental revenue opportunities and chefs can easily create popular beverages consumers crave. It takes the guesswork out of making smoothies, but still allows plenty of room for culinary creativity. Chefs can add fruits and vegetables to make signature flavors and boost nutritional value.”
