The company that brings fresh fish to tables in Kansas City and around the Midwest is getting a new building.

Next week, Kansas City-based Seattle Fish Co. International is moving into a newly built, 29,000-square-foot headquarters building at 4300 N. Mattox Road in Riverside.

Scott Godke, the company's general manager, said the move has been in the works for about five years, and will allow his company to be a more efficient distributor of fresh seafood by increasing the company's production and distribution capacity. The new location in NorthPoint Development's Riverside Horizons development will be completely refrigerated, with the exception of the office component, and will feature a larger freezer. Together, the improvements should allow the 36-employee company to increase its total annual output to 4 million pounds of seafood from its current level of about 3 million pounds.
