Birmingham's grocery delivery company is expanding into North Carolina, bringing the company's presence to six states.

Shipt will launch delivery in Charlotte Tuesday, Sept. 29. It's looking to hire 300 drivers in the area.

Shipt is a grocery delivery company that operates sort of like Uber: shoppers make their grocery list using the app, then that order goes to Shipt shoppers who can accept or decline the order. If a shopper accepts the order, they do the shopping then deliver the groceries to the customer's door.
