FRANKLIN, Ind. – Gloomy weather with clouds and high humidity might be a bummer sometimes, but not for Indiana’s peony crops. We headed down to Franklin to a farm that sells the flowers all year round, but has them in special supply on Memorial Day.

If you stop by a grave site on Memorial Day in Indiana, you’ll definitely spot the peony. It’s known as the Memorial Day flower and is also the state flower of Indiana.

Pam Parker is a third-generation farmer and florist. Back in 1995 she decided to grow peonies locally for her store, JP Parker Flowers.
