Tyler, TX's Certified Roses Acquires Sexton Nurseries

Two of Tyler’s oldest rose businesses have joined forces to become one of the nation’s largest producers.
Certified Roses Inc., which started in Tyler in 1949, recently acquired Sexton Nurseries, which began here in 1946. The two businesses neighbor each other on 20 acres and 40 acres, respectively, on U.S. Highway 69 North.
“It makes us one of the biggest nurseries in the United States,” Shirley Staples, president of Certified Roses, said of the company buying Sexton Nurseries.
