Byrne Dairy Joins Greek Yogurt Craze

Cortland, N.Y. — Syracuse's Byrne Dairy has gone Greek.
The 81-year-old family-owned company, a big producer of milk, ice cream, cream and other dairy products, entered the rapidly growing market for Greek yogurt this week, producing its own brand of strained yogurt for the first time.
Byrne Hollow Farm Greek Yoghurt (the company prefers to spell the word with an "h") started coming off the production line at Byrne's brand-new $30 million yogurt and cheese plant in Cortland on Wednesday.
