Terra Nova Nurseries Introduces New Holiday-Themed Begonia Variety

Canby, Ore. – Terra Nova Nurseries announced today a sneak peek of a new variety named Begonia HOLIDAY™ ‘Jolly Holly’. This festive variety is the first introduction to the new HOLIDAY™ collection from Terra Nova Nurseries.

‘Jolly Holly’ has bright, shiny, holly-like leaves embossed with silver that are complemented by clusters of small, red flowers resembling holly berries. These male flowers are formed in winter, never open and add extra cheer to this already delightful plant.

This wintertime begonia has a medium-small, dense, upright habit, which fills containers well. It thrives in the shade and contains hardiness zones of 9-11, making it ideal for the southeast or west coast. With a foliage height of 17”, foliage spread of 22”, and flower height of 19”, this joyful variety would make for a lovely Christmas display.

From plug to a 4”-pot, the finish time is between 4-6 weeks. To a gallon-sized pot, the finish time is between 8-10 weeks. Fertilization is recommended at 150-200 PPM.
