Lipman To Host 'Run For Backpacks' 5K

Lipman, North America’s largest open-field tomato grower, is hosting a “Run for Backpacks” 5K and Junior Fun Run to raise money for its 6th annual backpack giveaway. Since 2012, this annual race has made it possible for Lipman to distribute more than 5,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to Immokalee elementary and middle school students during back-to-school season.
Awards will be given to the winners of each age group, and the elementary school with the highest participation rate will receive a free school uniform shirt for every student at the school.
After the race, each runner will receive a bag filled with Immokalee-grown produce.
WHEN: Saturday, April 22
Registration: 6:30 a.m.
5K race: 8 a.m.
Junior Fun Run: 9 a.m.

COST: Pre-registration is $25 for adults and $15 for students; both will be $30 on race day. Registration cost includes a shirt, race bib and timing chip.
