Fry's Food Stores is seeking to hire more than 1,000 people in Arizona as the retailer adds more stores and shopping services.
The company, a division of supermarket giant Kroger Co., is hoping to add both full-time and part-time workers. The positions range from department managers and pharmacy technicians to clerks, night stockers, chefs, wine stewards and cheese specialists. College degrees or strong grocery experience is required for some full-time management positions. Many positions include benefits such as medical insurance, retirement incentives, paid vacation, tuition assistance and product discounts.
Kroger employs more than 21,000 people in Arizona, making it the third largest non-government employer in the state, according to the Republic 100 special report now being compiled by the The Arizona Republic. Most Kroger stores in Arizona operate under the Fry's name, with some Smith’s Food & Drug Stores along the Colorado River.
