Costa Group Looks To Smash Some Avocado
March 14, 2017 | 1 min to read
Costa Group is among parties running the ruler over Australia's biggest avocado farm, Street Talk can reveal. The fruit and vegetable grower is seeking to tap into the heavy demand among inner-city types who've been chowing down on too much smashed avocado on toast, to the detriment of their real estate dreams.
It is understood the Harry Debney-led company has been in talks with Neil Delroy, the Australian owner of Jasper Farms near Busselton in southern Western Australia and his advisers at EY In Perth for the past 18 months, about a potential buyout.
The avocado market is estimated by stockbroking house UBS to be worth $350 million annually and has grown at around 17 per cent per annum over the past three years.
