LOS ANGELES, CA – Best Cheese Corporation, the Westchester, New York-based exclusive importer of Uniekaas® Specialty Dutch Cheeses today announced a successful showing at the Los Angeles International Dairy Competition. Receiving two gold and two silver awards, this year’s competition marks an exceptional accomplishment for the company and their delectable gouda and hard cheeses.
Best Cheese Corporation won gold and silver for the following cheeses:
Vintage Grand Ewe® (Gold – Category: Hard Sheep’s Milk Cheeses) – Vintage Grand Ewe is a rare 100% sheep’s milk cheese aged to complete perfection. Within a year this cheese produces a slightly rich buttery taste and toasted almond aroma. Nothing compares to its creamy texture and mini salt crystals that form during the natural aging process.
Uniekaas Reserve® (Gold – Category: Gouda, Aged) – Uniekaas Reserve is an authentic naturally-aged Dutch Gouda that is worth the wait. Because it is aged for at least 18 months, under perfectly natural temperature and humidity conditions, Uniekaas Reserve is able to maintain its unique smooth and spicy flavor profile-time and time again.
Melkbus237® Original (Silver – Category: Gouda) – Melkbus 237 Original is known as a traditional Boerenkaas or “Raw Milk Farmers Cheese”. Made by hand with the farms own milk, this cheese has a rich, sweet cream taste with hints of Brazil nuts and dried apricots.
Melkbus149® Truffle (Silver – Category: Gouda, Flavored) – Melkbus 149 Truffle starts as a traditional “Boerenkaas” or Raw Milk Farmer Cheese. However, just prior to pressing and shaping of the cheese, shavings of Italian Black Truffles are generously sprinkled throughout the curd, making it truly special. After 10 weeks of aging, earthy flavors from the truffles are infused throughout the cheese along with notes of walnuts.
The Los Angeles International Dairy Competition honors the finest dairy products, judged by experts with refined palates. With great excitement regarding the award, CEO Steve Millard stated, “Winning in all of the gouda and hard sheep milk categories at the Los Angeles International Dairy Competition signals our time-honored commitment to the highest quality product and ability to partner with hard-working and service-oriented individuals.”
All award-wining cheeses will be featured at the Los Angeles County Fair. Please visit http://bestcheeseusa.com for more information regarding these cheeses and more.
