Kamiakin High School Sophomore Takes Top Prize in WAEF Art Contest

Kamiakin High School sophomore Margot Massey is the Grand Prize winner in the 26th Annual Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) Year of the Apple Art Contest sponsored by Corteva Agriscience. Massey received a check in the amount of $1,000 for her efforts and will see her artwork published on the 2022 Corteva Agriscience calendar poster.

Washington’s Tree Fruit Industry Announces over $1 million in Scholarships Awarded this Spring

The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) today announces its 2021 scholarship recipients. In total, the foundation is awarding over $1 million to students raised in tree fruit industry families on behalf of industry employers, families and supporters. 332 students are sharing in this year’s awards.

Over $1 Million Available in Scholarships to Kids Raised in Tree Fruit Industry Families

The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) scholarship application is currently open and available to students raised in tree fruit industry families with plans to attend college in the fall of 2021. Annually, WAEF awards over $1 million in scholarships on behalf of Washington’s tree fruit growers, packers, shippers and suppliers to college-bound and college-enrolled students.

Courtney Lane is the 2020 WAEF Volunteer of the Year

Courtney Lane, Yakima, of Zirkle Fruit Company is the Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) Individual Volunteer of the Year. Her recognition was announced earlier today at a company production meeting held in Selah, Washington. While the meeting was pre-planned, the interruption from WAEF with the special announcement occurred as a surprise to her.
