In fall 2017, the retailer began a small test allowing customers to pay for online grocery orders using their SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits — more casually known as food stamps. Today, Walmart says SNAP is now accepted for online grocery orders at all of the company’s 2,500-plus pickup locations.

Walmart is taking aim at Instacart, Target’s Shipt and Amazon Prime Now/Whole Foods with a new grocery delivery subscription service called simply, “Delivery Unlimited.” Before, Walmart shoppers could order groceries online and pick them up at their local store for free or they could opt to pay the $9.95 (or sometimes less) per-order delivery fee.

Why Walmart Wants to Sell its Own Line of Steaks

The company announced in April that it will work with ranchers, a beef processor and a cattle-feeding company to supply steaks and roasts to 500 of its stores in the southeast. Walmart has not revealed a name for its new steak line, which will start hitting stores this fall.
