G&R Farms Fosters Talent: Announces Promotion from Within

G&R Farms, the third-generation Vidalia Onion grower in southeast Georgia, is pleased to announce the promotion of Fabian Murillo to Shed Manager. In this role, Fabian oversees all day-to-day operations of shed production, including onion storage, drying, production scheduling, inventory management, and staff supervision of over 60 employees.

USDA Announces Dates for the Vidalia Onion Continuance Referendum

The U.S. Department of Agriculture will conduct a referendum Oct. 7–28, 2019, for Vidalia onion growers to vote on whether to continue their federal marketing order. Growers who produced Vidalia onions in Georgia from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2018, are eligible to vote. Notice of the referendum was published in the Federal Register on Sept. 27, 2019.
