Corfu Foods, Inc. Recalls Swai (Siluriformes) Products Imported Without Benefit of Import Reinspection

Corfu Foods, Inc., a Bensenville, Ill. firm, is recalling approximately 6,570 pounds of swai (Siluriformes) fish products imported from Vietnam that were not presented for import reinspection into the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

Fresh Avocado Imports from Mexico Resume

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced that its avocado inspection program in Michoacan, Mexico has restarted and avocado exports to the United States have resumed. 

USDA Announces National Potato Promotion Board Appointments

The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced the appointment of 33 individuals to serve on the National Potato Promotion Board. The appointees will serve three-year terms from March 1, 2022, through Feb. 28, 2025.

USDA Terminates Washington State Potato Marketing Order

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is terminating the marketing order regulating the handling of potatoes grown in Washington state. The marketing order was established in 1949 but its handling regulations have been suspended since 2014 and are currently not active.

USDA Announces $50M in Grants Awarded to States to Support the Seafood Industry
