Tillamook Maker’s Reserve 2014 Extra Sharp White Cheddar Named the ‘Best Cheddar in the World’

Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA), the 115-year-old, farmer-owned, dairy co-op, was awarded for three different cheddar varieties at the World Cheese Awards, the most distinguished cheese-only competition, held at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Viseu, in Viseu, Portugal.

The ICDA competition gathers dairy experts and judges from all over the world to evaluate product entries based on aroma, flavor, texture, and visual presentation. The three highest-scoring entries in each class were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals, respectively within their category.

Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) President & CEO Patrick Criteser announced he will step down later this year. The TCCA Board of Directors has selected David Booth, TCCA’s current EVP of Brand Growth & Commercialization, to succeed Criteser as President & CEO, with Criteser’s endorsement, and in alignment with the organization’s long-standing succession plan.
