Point Reyes Farmstead Celebrates 4 Awards at the 2024 American Cheese Society Annual Judging & Competition

The highlight of the conference was the prestigious ACS Judging & Competition Awards, a blind competition celebrated for its high level of integrity and dedication to recognizing the best in American cheeses. Point Reyes TomaTruffle brought home the 1st place ribbon for American Originals Flavored Cheese, while Bay Blue took 3rd place in Rinded Blue Mold Cheeses.

Point Reyes Farmstead Unveils Two New Cheeses: Fennel Blue & Truffle Brie

Famous for their award-winning blue cheeses, Point Reyes is introducing Fennel Blue, a version of its beloved Bay Blue, infused with aromatic fennel seeds. Truffle Brie, also being launched, is Point Reyes’ second cheese using black summer truffles from Sabatino Tartufi in Umbria, Italy.

Point Reyes Shines With Eleven Awards at  California State Fair

The California State Fair unveiled the winners of the 2024 Commercial Cheese Competition, spotlighting outstanding artistry and the abundant variety within California’s artisan cheese making landscape. Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co. was awarded an impressive eleven awards at this year’s competition. Notably, Toma, TomaRashi and Aged Gouda each received esteemed “Best in California” titles, a testament to the 24 year old company’s continued commitment to excellence.

Point Reyes Wins at World Champion Cheese Contest

The week brought back the biennial World Championship Cheese Contest (WCCC), held in Madison, Wisconsin. A total of 25 countries and 32 US states were represented in the 2024 contest.  With an impressive 84 Best of Class finishes, American cheesemakers earned the highest number of gold medals. This year 3,302 entries from around the world competed across 142 categories. From March 5-7th, a team of 53 internationally renowned dairy experts from 19 nations evaluated cheese, butter and yogurt through visual inspection and sensory evaluation.
