USHBC and NABC Add New Director of Business Intelligence

Joe Vargas has been hired as the director of business intelligence for the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) and North American Blueberry Council (NABC). In this newly created role, Vargas is responsible for developing and leading a best-in-class data and insights program for the blueberry industry. 

Amanda Griffin Appointed as USHBC and NABC’s First-Ever Vice President of Engagement and Education

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) and North American Blueberry Council (NABC) have appointed Amanda Griffin, a longtime nonprofit education, events and program management executive, as vice president of engagement and education. In this newly created role, Griffin will define, lead and execute day-to-day industry engagement, education and event activities to build awareness and participation for the two councils. 

Bernadine Strik, Ph.D., Honored With Duke Galletta Award From NABC

Bernadine Strik, Ph.D., a veteran professor of horticulture and a berry crop specialist and researcher at Oregon State University, was honored with the Duke Galletta Award for Excellence in Horticultural Research by the North American Blueberry Council (NABC). 

Leslie Wada Appointed as USHBC and NABC’s First-Ever Senior Director of Nutrition and Health Research

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) and North American Blueberry Council (NABC) have appointed Leslie Wada, Ph.D., RD, a longtime research consultant for the council, as senior director of nutrition and health research. In this newly created role, Wada will represent USHBC and NABC as an official spokesperson for both organizations, as well as the blueberry industry at large. 

NABC and USHBC Adds New Director of Communications & Industry Relations Position to Staff Team

In this newly created role, Scofield, who started on staff April 7, is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing USHBC and NABC industry communications programs involving growers, marketers, exporters, importers, distributors and other stakeholders.
