Marine Stewardship Council Presents MSC US Ocean Champion Award

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) awarded Newport-based Lang Pharma Nutrition, Inc. a 2021 MSC US Ocean Champion Award for their continued dedication to ocean health and outstanding efforts beyond MSC’s sustainability standards. US Atlantic Scup Fishery Achieves MSC Certification

The Marine Stewardship Council announced that the Atlantic Scup (Stenotomus chrysops) bottom trawl fishery has achieved MSC certification for sustainable fishing practices. The MSC Fisheries Standard is a globally recognized standard used to assess if a fishery is well-managed, and reflects the most up-to-date understanding of internationally accepted fisheries science and management. The MSC certificate for scup is jointly held by commercial fishing operations Lund’s Fisheries, Inc. and Seafreeze, Ltd.

Sustainable Fishing and Ocean Conservation Receives Close to $1 Million Funding Boost From Sustainable Seafood Ecolabel

Satellite tagging stingrays, translocating sea urchins and developing deep-sea cameras are among the 22 projects and fisheries to have been awarded funding by the internationally recognised sustainable seafood certification and ecolabelling program, the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) announced. 

New Data Reveals Growing Consumer Trust in Blue MSC Label

Just-released data shows that consumer awareness and trust in the blue MSC label is growing. The survey by independent insights consultancy, GlobeScan, which involved more than 25,000 people across 23 countries found that consumer trust in the MSC blue label has increased to 78%, up two percent from 2020. 

MSC Seafood Futures Forum 2022 How to Save Our Oceans From Overfishing

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has announced the return of its flagship thought leadership event, the Seafood Futures Forum, which is taking place on 27 April, 09.00 CET, live from Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona. More than 600 people are registered including 200 in person and more than 400 people online. While online tickets are unlimited, in person tickets are expected to sell out.
