In June 2024, McKinley Chalet Resort received Marine Stewardship Council certification, one of the most credible standards worldwide for certified seafood. The resort’s accreditation comes on the heels of Holland America Line becoming the first global cruise line to receive Marine Stewardship Council certification earlier this year. The distinguished certification takes Holland America Line’s Global Fresh Fish Program to the next level, underscoring the brand’s commitment to serving guests the highest-quality seafood that is sourced sustainably.

Alaska Seafood and Holland America Line Form First-of-its-Kind Partnership for Sustainable Seafood Education

Seafood U® Training for Holland America Line’s culinary teams began earlier this year, in advance of the cruise line’s 2024 Alaska season. Approximately 2,500 shipboard team members covering six ships will undergo the training.

In celebration of 75 years exploring Alaska, Holland America Line is partnering with Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) to highlight the line’s leadership and commitment to sustainably sourced local seafood. The first formal partnership of its kind between ASMI, a partnership between the state of Alaska and Alaska’s fishing industry, and a major cruise line will highlight Holland America Line’s use of Alaska seafood exclusively on all six ships serving the Great Land.
