Star Of 'Top Chef Masters' Is Chef Ambassador For True North Salmon

BLACKS HARBOUR, NEW BRUNSWICK – True North Salmon is excited to announce a new partnership with Rick Moonen, celebrated chef known for supporting sustainable seafood.

A founding member of the Chef’s Coalition and Seafood Choices Alliances, the respected restaurateur will serve as Brand Ambassador for True North Salmon. In this role, Moonen will help educate and bring awareness to the True North Salmon brand and its many great attributes.

“I’m proud to partner with True North Salmon, a company at the forefront of sustainable aquaculture practices,” Moonen said.

“Through their responsible raising of salmon, seafood lovers can have peace of mind as they enjoy each delicious bite of True North Salmon.”

True North Salmon makes this announcement with the backdrop of Seafood Expo North America, where the company will be sharing their portfolio of fresher salmon options and inviting Americans to “Eat True.” The campaign pays homage to True North Salmon products delivered to market within 48 hours of harvest, all while maintaining the welfare of fish and preserving their natural environments.

Through online content, videos, recipes and appearances, Moonen will provide insight into the value behind True North’s truly fresher salmon and deliver creative yet simple ways to prepare salmon dishes at home.

True North Salmon recently received the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification, recognizing the company as one that makes the health and welfare of fish and their natural environments a top priority.

“We are proud to have Chef Rick Moonen join the True North Salmon family. Our partnership with Rick, the voice of sustainable seafood, is a significant endorsement of our company’s commitment to continued advancements in our practices,” said Andrew Lively, Director of Marketing at True North Salmon-Cooke Aquaculture.

“As we build the True North Salmon brand, Rick will play a key role in engaging consumers, industry associations and grocers alike.”
