Sherbrooke is out 18 jobs that will be hard to replace.
On Thursday Cooke Aquculture Inc., which only bought the facility last October, announced that it will keep the brand but shutter the plant next to the river from which it gets its name.
“We have a more modern facility in Charlottetown and that will allow us to create operating efficiencies,” said Cooke spokesman Joel Richardson on Monday.
“It certainly produces a very good product and has a good customer base.”
