Regal Springs reached their goal to donate 5,000 pounds of tilapia to SeaShare after serving 1,000 tilapia tacos at Seafood Expo North America last week. The premium tilapia brand featured a fish taco bar with freshly grilled Regal Springs tilapia, warm flour tortillas, a variety of fresh salsas and toppings. With every taco sampled, Regal Springs pledged to donate five pounds of tilapia to SeaShare, a non-profit dedicated to supporting hunger relief efforts in the USA.

“We were really happy with the response from everyone at the expo. Every person who came by our booth to sample a taco helped us reach our goal,” said Francis Yupangco, global marketing manager of Regal Springs. “Since the beginning, philanthropy has been a huge part of Regal Springs. It’s great to see people share our enthusiasm for supporting such great organizations like SeaShare.”

While Regal Springs has become the largest vertically integrated tilapia producer in the world, the driving philosophy at Regal Springs is not only about producing clean, healthy fish, it’s about genuinely caring for people. Over the years, Regal Springs has been a proud supporter of SeaShare. Since December 2015, they have donated over 35,000 pounds of tilapia.

“We were thrilled to work with Regal Springs again,” said Jim Harmon, executive director of SeaShare.

“With their generosity, we are able to provide thousands of people with nutrient-rich, high quality fish that they might not have access to otherwise.”

Regal Springs Tilapia grow healthy and strong in pristine, deep-water lakes in Mexico, Honduras and Indonesia. The fish swim in large floating nets and against water currents, just like in the wild. For more information, visit RegalSprings.com.
