Reconstruction is set to begin in mid-July for the Peter Pan Seafoods processing plant at Port Moller, some 550 air miles southwest of Anchorage on the north side of the Alaska Peninsula, according to plant manager Gary Johnson.

Once the shell is up, interior concrete, electric and refrigeration installation can commence, said Johnson, writing in the June 14 edition of the Aleutian East Borough’s online Fish News. Major construction should be completed by the end of September or the first week in October, with initial installation of the processing equipment at that time, he said.

Final installation of processing equipment and tuning up the powerhouse and refrigeration is scheduled for April and May of 2019, with the plant ready to take fish in June of that year, he said.
