With the start of commercial lobster fishing season just over two weeks away, some Island fishermen say they are cautiously optimistic about what lies ahead.
Craig Avery, who fishes out of North Port, P.E.I., near Alberton, and is president of the P.E.I. Fishermen's Association said the wharves around the Island are already busy.
"Guys are putting their boats in the water. It's good business for boat haulers," said Avery, noting the season ahead "looks promising," with harbours free of ice, unlike last spring when there was a two-week delay to the season due to ice.
