Orca Bay Seafoods, Inc. has added a new product line to their retail offerings- 5 oz. portions of wild-caught all-natural seafood in a direct-printed vacuum package. This new packaging eliminates one layer of plastic from the waste stream and increases consumer convenience by being single-serve. This provides a more sustainable option for consumers beyond Orca Bay’s traditional 10 oz. bags that the Renton-based seafood company successfully markets to retailers nationwide.
The new 5 oz. retail line will also offer both Keta salmon and Pacific cod seasoned with a variety of dry spice rubs and crusts. The Keta salmon portions will include Mediterranean Spice, Maple Bourbon, Lemon Pepper with Dill, Lemon Herb Thyme, and Spicy Barbecue flavors. The Cod line will have Smokehouse Barbecue Crust, Roasted Garlic and Bell Pepper Crust, and a spicy Chili Lime and Cilantro Rub.
Roger Fickenscher, Director of Product Development says, “With consumer awareness firmly focused on sustainable practices, we wanted to provide packaging options that mirror our Common Sense Sourcing philosophy of doing business. And the two lines of spice rubbed and crusted fish, the Keta and the cod, give our customers such great flavor options!”
