TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Mexico has suspended license shrimp imports from Indonesia following the finding of Myonecrosis Infectious Virus (IMNV) infecting Indonesia’s penaeus vannamei shrimps.

IMNV is one of shrimp’s most dangerous diseases according to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

The Indonesian Trade Ministry is now monitoring the progress of this case.

"Countries that become Indonesia’s export destinations of fishery products do not only require quality standards on imported fishery products, but also health standards for entry into their markets," said Director General of Foreign Trade Karyanto on Sunday, June 19, 2016.
