Maine's Governor Declares August To Be Maine Lobster Month

ROCKLAND, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage encouraged residents to eat lobster and to visit the Maine Lobster Festival this past weekend.

LePage declared August to be "Maine Lobster Month" and encouraged residents to turn out for the festival in Rockland. He's also sending lobsters to all 49 other governors to help encourage people to eat more lobster.

He said Maine fishermen "are the epitome of hard work" and that lobster is a mainstay of the economy.
