Olympia – A local lawmaker is proposing legislation that would change labeling of seafood in our state. Especially noting if the fish you buy is wild or farm-raised, domestic or imported.
24th District Representative Kevin Van De Wege's says his bill would clear up confusion for consumers and the current labelling laws are outdated.
Van De Wege says the local fishing industry has to compete against thousands of imported seafood products that often are not labeled correctly or accurately and may be misleading.
