Many of the fish and other seafood we enjoy are in trouble due to destructive fishing and farming practices. Which is why Harmons is now partnering with Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch to chart the course towards enjoying only sustainable seafood.

Monterey Bay Aquarium has made it easy to identify which fish are sustainable with their Seafood Watch program. Basic criteria for the Seafood Watch program is based on where the seafood came from and how was it caught. Using this criteria and other research and evaluations, each seafood is given a rating. The ratings are as follows:

Best Choices (Green): Buy first! Seafood that is well managed and caught or farmed in ways that cause little harm to habitats or other wildlife.

Good Alternatives (Yellow): Buy, but be aware. There are concerns with how the seafood has been caught or farmed.
