Gator Farmers Push Meat At Seafood Expo

How about a little alligator on your dinner table?

That's the pitch that the Florida Alligator Marketing Education Committee made this week when it went for the first time to Boston's annual Seafood Expo North America, the largest seafood show on the continent.

Alligator meat, the committee says, is lean, mild-flavored and similar to fish, chicken or veal. The choicest white meat cuts are in the tail, according to the committee's website.

The annual three-day Seafood Expo attracted more than 20,000 people before ending Tuesday, organizers said.
