Acme Smoked Fish Invests In Food Safety

Acme Smoked Fish Corp. has implemented new food safety measures in response to recent food-related listeria recalls.
From ice cream to soy bean sprouts to cold-smoked salmon, foods across the country have been recalled this year from concerns about the potentially serious illness the bacteria can cause.
Blue Bell Creameries, located in Brenham, Texas, for example, only recently resumed shipments four months after its products were linked to 10 listeria cases in four states, including three deaths in Kansas, before a recall April 20. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Columbus, Ohio, also experienced its own recall when listeria was found in its production facility in April and June.
