2015 To Be Average Year For Cook Inlet Sockeye Salmon, Officials Say

The Department of Fish and Game says 5.8 million sockeye salmon are projected to return to Cook Inlet this summer, making 2015 an average year.
The Peninsula Clarion, a Kenai newspaper, reports commercial fisheries managers are projecting a harvest of about 3.7 million red salmon by all user groups.
The 2015 outlook for commercial salmon fishing forecasts 3.6 million sockeye returning to the Kenai River and 1.1 million to the Kasilof River.
