Livingston, CA – As school resumes around the country, Foster Farms’ new Lower-Sodium, 100% Whole Grain Chicken Corn Dog earned the Parent Tested Parent Approved (PTPA) Winner’s Seal of Approval, crowning a new school lunch offering that parents and children agree on. With more than 40,000 parent testers, PTPA Media is North America’s largest volunteer parent testing community and is regularly highlighted on national morning shows. Families nationwide sampled the new Foster Farms product in their own home kitchens and gave the product superior marks for taste, quality, health and ease of use. The corn dogs, available for foodservice customers including school lunch programs, contain 100 percent whole grain, 47 percent less fat, further reduced sodium, higher fiber, zero trans fat and fewer calories. In response to new regulations and parental demand, school lunch decision makers continue to explore healthier school lunch offerings. Foster Farms introduced a healthier corn dog to fill the lunchtime need with a happy medium that provides all the taste, crunchy texture and quality of the brand’s favored original corn dog, with an improved nutritional profile. Parent Testers agree; the goal was met, as shown through Parent Tester feedback:
The new Foster Farms Corn Dogs are a healthier alternative for school lunches and satisfy both our corn dog lover and our picky eater. I would let our boys eat these corn dogs if they were served in a school lunch setting.
Deliciously filling and more nutritious than the typical corn dog. The breading was thick and cooked up crunchy in the oven. VERY TASTY! My kids are natural health nuts and they each found a part of the corn dog that they enjoyed. They had a great texture and taste. Our whole family enjoyed these.
“The PTPA Winner’s Seal of Approval is confirmation that when tested in a real life environment, Foster Farms’ new corn dogs meet the stringent parental requirements for school lunches,” said Greta Janz, Foster Farms vice president of frozen and prepared foods. “We’re able to offer schools a lunch solution that satisfies kids’ taste and parents’ desire for healthier choices with the added nutritional value of whole grains, lower fat of chicken corn dogs and now, further reduced sodium levels.”
