Lancaster residents will no longer have to drive to Mechanicsburg if they want to shop at Wegmans. One will soon be opening in their backyard.
Wegmans Food Markets Inc. announced on Sunday plans are in the works to build a new store just outside of Lancaster in Manheim Township.
"We look forward to the day when we can welcome customers to Wegmans in Lancaster," Wegmans' senior vice president of real estate Ralph Uttaro said in a press release Sunday. "Lancaster residents have been asking us to build a store for a long time."
