Walmart, Pick ‘n Save Battle Over Milwaukee Market

Roundy's Supermarkets and Walmart are going after each other in Milwaukee, with Walmart claiming to have the lowest prices and Roundy's touting the service and fresh products offered at its Pick 'n Save stores.
And consumers could emerge as the winners of the battle as the competition should lead to lower prices, market watchers say.
"It's a food fight. That, really, is exactly what it is," said Jim Hertel, managing partner at Willard Bishop, a retail consulting business based in northern Illinois.
While Roundy's and Walmart trade punches, other competitors are expanding here or plan to enter the market, making things even more competitive in coming years.
