Santa Maria will soon have two new grocery stores courtesy of Walmart.
The retail giant announced Wednesday it will open two Walmart Neighborhood Markets in Santa Maria, one next to its current store at 2240 S. Bradley Road in the Crossroads Center and the second at 500 S. Blosser Road near the Boone Street intersection.
Walmart opened its first Neighborhood Market in 1998 and there are now more than 200 spread across the country.
The South Bradley Road market is going into the Crossroads Center location formerly occupied by Linens-N-Things.
