LIVING IN BRISBANE, British-born Susan Anderson headed Uber in Australia for six years. Following a stint in San Francisco as head of Uber for Business at the headquarters of this revolutionary transport company, Anderson is now the global boss of Uber’s grocery and retail operations.
When recently in Sydney to escalate the grocery and retail division down under for the diversified $US140 billion car ride business, Harper’s BAZAAR Australia/New Zealand caught up with the dynamic leader to gain insights into how she made it to the top, and what she has learnt not only about leadership, but also herself, on her impressive journey.
Driving Uber’s latest innovation, which kicked off in the US in 2020 (the year the pandemic started) is a mantra that says: “At Uber Retail and Grocery we’re enabling local communities and giving people time with the people they love.” Clearly, hours not lost physically shopping is time that can be found for loved ones and other activities.
