ROSEMONT, Ill. — U.S. Foodservice, one of America’s leading foodservice distributors, today announced the purchase of Cerniglia Products, a prominent distributor of Italian specialty foods to the southern Wisconsin market. The company, currently located in Middleton, Wis., will become part of the U.S. Foodservice-Milwaukee division. Vito Cerniglia, former owner of Cerniglia Products, will join U.S. Foodservice-Milwaukee as a consultant.
“Vito Cerniglia and his team joining U.S. Foodservice will dramatically enhance our ability to serve the growing Italian and Mediterranean restaurant markets,” said Tim Hart, division president, U.S. Foodservice-Milwaukee. “This acquisition gives U.S. Foodservice-Milwaukee customers access to Cerniglia’s broad selection of Italian specialty foods, and Cerniglia customers now have access to more than 9,000 U.S. Foodservice national brand and private label products.”
Vito Cerniglia said that like U.S. Foodservice, Cerniglia Products is dedicated to delivering superior products and service to customers. “I’m especially excited that Cerniglia customers will have access to more products and resources that will help them grow their business.”
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
