Trader Joe's, the eclectic grocery chain with a rabid following, will open a long-coveted store in Sarasota this year.
The company confirmed Wednesday that it will open at 4101 S. Tamiami Trail, in a former Rooms To Go furniture store.

"It's a wonderful community, filled with lots of foodies. It seems like a great fit for us," said company spokeswoman Alison Mochizuki.
