Specialty food and beverage retailer Trader Joe’s has signed a lease on 13,000 square feet at the Carriage Gate shopping center and plans to open the store next year, the company has announced.
It will be the fourth location in Florida for Trader Joe’s, which opened in 1958 in the Los Angeles area with a mix of everyday and exotic food products and other items. A Naples store opened Feb. 10 and the Sarasota location opens today. A Gainesville store will follow soon, then Tallahassee, said spokeswoman Alison Mochizuki.
Trader Joe’s carries an array of domestic and imported foods and beverages, including fresh-baked artisan breads, Arabica bean coffees, international frozen entrées, fresh crop nuts, deli items, and vitamins and supplements, as well as such staples as milk and eggs.
